Welsh censuses were taken every ten years from 1841 and provide valuable population information for the government. They provide information about every household in the country, how many family members live there, what jobs they did, their ages, where they were born and more. Please note that ages were rounded down to the nearest five years on the 1841 census! Also, the 1911 census has a bit more information such as how many children have died and how many rooms were in the residence. Ancestrywales can supply as many censuses as we can find at no extra charge.
We can search Wales and all the UK
Birth, Marriage & Death records
Welsh civil records were kept since 1837 of all births, deaths and marriages. Before then it was parishes that kept these records and Ancestrywales family trees can research quite a long way back and supply you with copies of the record entries and copies of the certificates if wanted.
Many of your Welsh relatives would probably have worked in one of Wales' traditional industrial jobs such as mining, dockyards, factories or maybe they were farmers or shopkeepers. Our family tree researchers can find out for you.
Military records
Whether your Welsh ancestors were in the RAF, the army or the navy we should be able to find their service records and we can tell you where and when they served and maybe if they were awarded a medal along the way.
